Big Bethel AME Invites UUCA to Join in Interfaith Observance of Children’s Sabbath this Saturday

Each year the Children’s Defense Fund and the Interfaith Children’s Movement encourage observance of Children’s Sabbath by “churches, synagogues, mosques, temples and other faith communities across the country in this celebration [that hold] special worship services, education programs, and advocacy activities to engage people of faith in improving the lives of children and their families.” In some prior years UUCA has been privileged to host the Children’s Sabbath.

This year our good friend Rev. Bessie Robinson of Big Bethel AME Church in downtown Atlanta has invited us to join in their congregation’s observance of this important intergenerational, interfaith worship opportunity. The service at Big Bethel, located at 220 Auburn Avenue, will begin at noon this Saturday, October 19.

It will follow Big Bethel’s Saturday morning outreach program for children, in which a number of UUCA members and friends participate.
